General Questions
What is BetaTrac?
BetaTrac is the creator of AIMSS — the world's first Analytical Intelligent Management Security Solution. AIMSS combines real-time guard tracking, fleet management, body-worn cameras, and security operations intelligence into a single, cloud-first ecosystem.
What does "AIMSS" stand for?
AIMSS stands for Analytical Intelligent Management Security Solution. It is BetaTrac's core platform that brings together guard patrol management, vehicle tracking, communications, and evidence capture across three resilient platforms.
How many platforms does BetaTrac operate?
BetaTrac runs across three major platforms:
- AIMSS Platform — guard, K9, and estate tracking (eGuard, eGuard-K9, eTrac, eTrac-IS, RapidTrac Compact)
- Communications Platform — voice, data, and patrol devices (ePatrol, ePatrol Pro, ePatrol Mobile, eSmartPatrol)
- Data Ecosystem Platform — video, AI, and cyber protection (RapidCam, DashCam e-100, DashCam e-200, eVision, Data Armour, RADR, RFID Asset Management)
This three-platform structure ensures no single point of failure — if one platform experiences an issue, the others continue operating.
Deployment and Installation
Do I need to install servers or infrastructure on-site?
No. All BetaTrac products are cloud-first. There is no on-site infrastructure required, no capital expenditure for servers, and no maintenance burden. You access your data and dashboards through a web browser.
How long does deployment take?
Deployment time depends on the products and scale. Typically:
- Single product (e.g., eGuard for one site): 1–2 weeks
- Multi-product deployment (e.g., eGuard + ePatrol + RapidCam): 2–4 weeks
- Enterprise deployment (multi-site, multi-product): 4–8 weeks
Deployment includes device provisioning, user setup, training, and rollout.
Do I need training?
Yes, but only for control room operators. Field guards and workers do not need training — BetaTrac devices are designed for zero-impact deployment. Guards do not feel they are being tracked; they feel they are equipped with a tool.
Can I deploy BetaTrac products alongside my existing systems?
Yes. BetaTrac products can complement existing radios, cameras, or tracking systems. If you want to replace legacy systems over time, BetaTrac can run in parallel during the transition.
Guard Tracking (eGuard, eGuard-K9)
Do guards know they are being tracked?
Yes. BetaTrac is designed for transparency — guards are aware they are equipped with eGuard. The system is built for accountability and patrol verification, not covert surveillance. Guards feel they are equipped, not monitored.
Can I verify that patrols were completed?
Yes. eGuard provides real-time GPS tracking with patrol verification. You can see exactly where each guard was at any given time, confirming that patrols were completed as scheduled.
What about K9 / canine security?
eGuard-K9 is a GPS-integrated lightweight harness for K9/canine security dogs. It gives you live real-time tracking of your K9 team's location and safety status.
What happens if a guard removes the armband?
eGuard is a lightweight GPS armband. If it is removed or tampered with, the system logs the event and alerts the control room, so you know immediately if accountability is broken.
Vehicle Tracking (eTrac, RapidTrac Compact)
What is "temporary vehicle tracking"?
eTrac provides first-in-market vehicle temporary tracking for housing and commercial estates. This means you can monitor vehicles on your estate without permanent installation — the tracking is temporary and can be deployed as needed.
How is eTrac different from RapidTrac Compact?
- eTrac is for estate vehicles — temporary monitoring on housing and commercial estates
- RapidTrac Compact is for response vehicles — instant vehicle location for emergency dispatch in armed response operations
Can I track lone workers?
Yes. eTrac-IS provides supervisor monitoring with daily autonomous performance reporting. It is designed for workforce safety and lone worker protection, giving you real-time visibility and automated daily reports.
Communications (ePatrol family)
What is "push-to-talk over cellular" (PoC)?
PoC is push-to-talk voice communication over cellular (4G) networks. The guard pushes a button on their ePatrol device and speaks instantly to the control room — no radio towers required. It works anywhere there is cellular coverage.
What is the difference between ePatrol and ePatrol Pro?
- ePatrol — GPS radio all-in-one with PoC voice and visual verification. Covers the essentials.
- ePatrol Pro — adds HD camera, full real-time reporting, and mission-critical ruggedisation. For high-stakes environments.
Can the control room see what the guard sees?
Yes. ePatrol and ePatrol Pro include visual verification — when the guard pushes the button, the control room can see the guard's location and view what the guard sees.
What about response fleet dispatch?
ePatrol Mobile is a mobile PoC device designed for rapid response fleets. It provides instant dispatch coordination for armed response vehicles.
Evidence Capture (RapidCam, DashCams)
What is "chain-of-custody"?
Chain-of-custody is a documented record of who had possession of a piece of evidence at every moment from capture to storage. RapidCam automatically maintains this record, so you know exactly when footage was captured, by whom, and that it has not been tampered with.
What is "anti-tamper memory"?
RapidCam uses anti-tamper memory — the footage is stored in memory that cannot be altered or deleted without proper authorisation. If someone attempts to tamper with the footage, the system logs the attempt and the footage remains intact.
What is the difference between the DashCams?
- DashCam e-100 — 4G 3-channel dashcam with night vision (NightVIS). Covers front, rear, and internal views.
- DashCam e-200 — 4G smart cloud dashcam with energy-saving parking guard. Monitors parking areas when the vehicle is parked.
Can I use RapidCam and a DashCam together?
Yes. RapidCam captures body-worn evidence (for guards), and a DashCam captures vehicle evidence (for fleet vehicles). Together they give you complete evidence coverage.
AI and Reporting (eVision)
What does eVision do?
eVision converts your audio and video conversations into first-draft reports automatically. It uses AI to transcribe and structure verbal incident notes into formatted reports.
How much time does eVision save?
eVision improves productivity and efficiencies by 20% on a daily basis — meaning you save roughly 20% of manhours that were previously spent on manual reporting.
Do I still need to review the reports?
Yes. eVision produces first-draft reports — they are structured and formatted, but a human should review them before they are finalised. The key benefit is that the drafting work is already done.
Cloud Storage and Cyber Protection (Data Armour, RADR)
What is Data Armour?
Data Armour is a SaaS service for secure cloud storage. It provides:
- Always-available storage
- Hot instant retrievable files
- AI AiR-indexed files (AI-powered search)
- Cyber and ransomware protection
What is RADR?
RADR (Rapid Data Access Recovery) is a rapid data recovery solution. If you are hit by ransomware, a cyberattack, hardware failure, or accidental deletion, RADR recovers your critical business data — back on track in 30 seconds.
Do I need both Data Armour and RADR?
They serve different purposes:
- Data Armour — proactive protection (store data safely)
- RADR — reactive recovery (recover data quickly after an attack)
Together they form a complete cyber resilience strategy. You need Data Armour to store data safely, and RADR to recover rapidly if something goes wrong.
Is my data protected from ransomware?
Yes. Both Data Armour and RADR include ransomware protection. Data Armour protects your stored data, and RADR can recover your data if ransomware encrypts it.
Asset Tracking (RFID Asset Management)
What is RFID Asset Management?
RFID Asset Management is a solution that uses RFID technology to track physical assets and deliver real-time inventory intelligence. It helps you safeguard assets, prevent shrinkage, and gain operational intelligence.
What kind of assets can I track?
Any asset with an RFID tag — this includes equipment, vehicles, uniforms, tools, and any physical inventory item that needs to be tracked and accounted for.
Data Security and Privacy
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in BetaTrac's secure cloud infrastructure. It is not stored on-site at your operation, which means it is protected from physical theft, fire, or hardware failure at your location.
Who can access my data?
Only authorised users in your organisation. Access is controlled through user accounts and permissions. BetaTrac does not access your operational data without your authorisation.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. All data — including video footage, location data, and reports — is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export reports, evidence footage, and operational data through the platform. You retain ownership of your data at all times.
