Question 1

How does Rapid Armed Response vehicle location work?

Accepted Answer

Each armed response vehicle carries a live GPS tracking unit. When a security guard raises a panic alert on their eGuard device, AIMSS immediately locates the nearest armed response vehicle and streams its live position to the control room, so backup can be dispatched in seconds — with journey playback to review every response run afterwards.

Question 2

What fleet management does BetaTrac offer?

Accepted Answer

BetaTrac's vehicle tracking is built for armed response fleets — not general fleet software. RapidTrac Compact gives control rooms live GPS location of every armed response vehicle, and AIMSS adds management reporting on response-vehicle whereabouts, driving conditions, and journey playback, so guard support operations stay accountable end to end.

Question 3

What is a digital occurrence book?

Accepted Answer

A digital occurrence book replaces the paper incident register at a security post. Guards log every event, visitor, and incident digitally via the ePatrol or eVision app — time-stamped, geotagged, and instantly synced to the control room and AIMSS management platform for real-time oversight.

Question 4

How does a guard reporting app work?

Accepted Answer

A guard reporting app lets field officers capture incidents on their mobile device — photo, audio, location, and a written or voice-to-text narrative. BetaTrac's eVision app uses AI to convert spoken notes into structured draft reports, cutting admin time and improving report accuracy.

Question 5

Are body-worn cameras legal for security guards in South Africa?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Security guards may wear body-worn cameras, provided footage is handled lawfully under POPIA — with clear signage, defined retention periods, restricted access, and secure storage. BetaTrac's RapidCam includes evidence-management controls that support a defensible chain of custody.

Question 6

How does evidence management for body cameras work?

Accepted Answer

Evidence management ensures footage is tamper-proof, time-stamped, and accessible only to authorised personnel. RapidCam footage is uploaded securely to cloud storage, indexed for search, and retained per your policy — with a full audit trail proving who accessed what, and when.
